Subconscious Messaging In Advertising

Example #3
We think you're getting the point. While the image is different, there are many similar themes in the messaging. Cosmopolitan does not do this by accident. They have studied how people look at their magazine cover for years. Obviously, they believe this format is the most effective attention-getter.

What do you think, are they right? Does this image "get your attention?"

The tobaco industry does the same thing. Their advertising contains cues that attract attention similarly as the messaging in Cosmopolitan.
